About the language centre IA

Welcome to one of the oldest language schools for Danish instruction of adult foreigners.

We are a dynamic school, renowned in Denmark for being the school that has the most integrated IT systems in the classroom. We use programmes that we have developed ourselves, for Danish tuition. These programmes are also the basis of our long distance teaching programme.

Language centre IA started in the beginning of the 1980’s in the Copenhagen area. Many years of existence have given us, lots of experience and a large network of colleagues within the educational sector with whom we collaborate. All in all this insures a unique service for our students, partners and colleagues.

IA is an independent institution with a board of governors and a service commission with Copenhagen municipality. The management consists of a Principal, Vice-principal with a head of department for IA business and IA-IT.

At our combined departments we have a total of more than 50 highly qualified employees. IA has, because of the new demands to language schools, split the school into different departments. This gives the staff a possibility of working in a more purposeful goal-orientated way and thus also enhancing the proficiency of the teacher’s skills.

IA’s main department is at Hejrevej 26-28. IA also has a satellite at Blegdamsvej 1b for about 100 women.

We organize the classes flexibly with introductory courses, and different projects. We offer classes at every level according to law 375.

  • “Uddannelse 1” – Education 1 – for people with no schooling or no knowledge of the Latin alphabet
  • “Uddannelse 2” – Education 2 – for people with a basic background of schooling
  • “Uddannelse 3” – Education 3 – for people with a higher education

We offer classes in the morning, at noon and in the evening at 17.00 and again at 18.20. We also have special courses for people who have difficulty in attending ordinary classes. These courses are a mixture of distance education with classes on Saturdays, where the emphasis is on oral work.

Flexible teaching

IA Sprogcenter has more than 25 years of experience in tailoring varied and flexible Danish courses.

IA Sprogcenter offers a combination of tuition in classes and distance learning structures with specially designed IT-programmes.

IA Sprogcenter sets up a detailed course syllabus for every single focus group and creates specific tools to support the communicative language skills. Additional to ordinary day- and evening classes IA Sprogcenter offers a range of four different courses:

Kombi dansk, Online dansk, Dansk for skandinaver and Crash -Course.

Place of study

Tuition usually takes place at IA Sprogcenter's language school in 2400 København NV.

If there is a group of participants the Danish classes can be held at the specific college's or company's address.

Online dansk

Course structure:
100% distance learning

Focus groups

IA Sprogcenter's concepts especially appeal to people working or studying in Denmark, who cannot attend ordinary day or evening classes, and to those who prefer to choose the time and place of their Danish classes.

Price

We do not charge for tuition. You only need to provide a CPR.NR. However there is an administration fee to your municipality of residence (kr. 500,- or kr.1.000,-). Individual tuition or tuition for foreigners without residence in Denmark is offered against payment.

Dansk for skandinaver

Course structure :
3-6 hrs. in classes weekly with focus on communication + 6 hrs. distance learning

Learning tools:
specially designed by IA with pronunciation and listening exercises

Aim:
Vocabulary training, improvement of pronunciation and writing abilities

Level:
Beginners, waystage and advanced

Tests:
PD2 and PD3

Start:
September, February & April
